GARY V PERFORMING IN BOSTON

The Philippines' "Mr. Pure Energy" Gary Valenciano on his World Tour 2007 will gallop his way to John Hancock Hall (180 Berkeley St., Boston) on Saturday, October 27 at 7:30 pm. The Powerplay, May Ann Casal and Melissa Fontano will perform in this energetic musical attraction. Musical Director is Mon Faustino. Filipino Edgardo José Martín Santiago Valenciano, or simply Gary Valenciano (shortened to Gary V), is a musician, composer, actor, producer, and gospel singer. He is best known for many songs that became theme songs for movies. Born on August 6, 1964, he is the sixth of Vicente Valenciano and Grimilda Santiago Ortiz’s seven children. Santiago Ortiz is a Puerto Rican woman of Italian descent who became a popular opera singer in Manila during the 1960s. Gary V. took his primary and secondary studies in La Salle Greenhills. During his high school days he had a brief stint with the musical group Kundirana. In 1982, he first appeared solo in the television show The Pilita and Jackie Show. He was then noticed after performances in the TV shows Germspesyal and Penthouse Live. His first solo concert, in April 1984, was at the Araneta Coliseum. He has 21 albums under his belt, three of them released internationally, including the Christian inspired "Out in the Dark." He is married to María Anna Elizabeth "Angeli" Evangelista Pangilinan, with whom he has three children: Juan Paolo Martín (a vocalist of the band Salamin), José Angelo Gabriel (a dancer), and Kristina María Mikaela.
